Sally and I just got back from an amazing trip to St. Petersburg (Leningrad, not Florida). Our trip coincided with the "White Nights" when the sun doesn't quite go away at night. I put a few pictures in a picasa album. While I was attending conferences, Sally got to see about three trips' worth of sights on her private tours. Then I made her repeat everything to me while she showed me the pictures she took. We made full use of the long ours of daylight to traipse all over the city; consequently I think I need a new pair of shoes.
Leaving the girls was definitely the hardest part about going (much harder than the 8-hour time difference, completely foreign language, and funny alphabet). I don't think I'll be able to convince Sally to take another vacation without them until they're off to college!

ok, I just looked at the pictures - WOW. Looks like a neat city to be able to visit!
