At first, Jessica threw a fit about being in the back carrier, and boy is she learning how to throw a fit! But we successfully distracted her by pointing out all the horse poop that was on the trail. She thought that was so funny, she forgot why she was upset, and eventually she told me how much she liked riding in her stroller backpack. One friendly chipmunk came up to us and begged for a handout. We told him to ask the president like everyone else.
Laura made it all the way to the falls (1.8 miles uphill) with no trouble, and we posed for a family photo in our favorite spot.

Here's Sally and me in the same exact location 10 years ago on our honeymoon (I'll spare her the indignity of posting the one of her as a kid here).
We all had a quick snack and headed back down the trail. Oh, and for any of you who have ever wondered, "Does a bear poop in the woods?", the answer is yes. And judging by the color, they eat a lot of berries.
The day ended back in Estes Park for swimming, souvenir purchasing, dinner, playground, and a polka concert at the amphitheater next to our hotel. Tomorrow we check out and head back to Denver to be near the airport for the flight home.
